Ok, so I've been pretty busy trying to find a job and get into this townhouse that Jon and I are going in on. We just got greenlit on it, so we'll be moving in as soon as we can get the funding together.

Otherwise, it's gonna be a while before I can do a proper update with images and the like. I'll do something once we get internet access set up in the new place.

Well, that's it. I'm done with finals and all that's left to do is graduate. I'm gonna move out my stuff, and then get the hell out of this two-jar world. College was a hell of a lot of fun, but as much as I hate to leave, I'm equally happy to be done.

So I"ll be away for a week or two, but I'll be back here updating more regularly over the summer. Expect to finally see some of the superhero stuff I did a while back that I never put up.

Well, that's it for now, see you all in a week or so.

Rob icon Rampant Success!
Well gang, URCAD and the DEC are both over, and they were a resounding success! URCAD was a blast, and we were able to generate a lot of interest in the game. Being able to present it in an academic environment to our peers was a good opportunity to recruit for the club, and the deadline for presentation was just what we needed to get that last-minute push to get the game to a finished state.

The DEC was even better! I was completely impressed by the turnout we had, and the quality of our speakers. Right after our lunch, I estimated that we had around 160 (!!) students in Lecture hall 5 listening to Barry Caudill and Dan Magaha talk about being producers in the game industry. Sid Meier was also great, and I got to show him our game at lunch. All in all, it's probably the best campus event I've ever attended or been a part of.

Spaulding's talk did light a fire under my ass to finish a portfolio, so if you want to see my work-in-progress portfolio, you can by going here.
Otherwise, sit back and enjoy some photos from the DEC, courtesy of Greg.

Alright gang, sorry I haven't been updating the site more, I've been really busy with classes, the Game Club, and preparing for URCAD and the DEC. I've got a lot of new material that I'll be adding to the site over the next couple of days, so stay tuned for that.

Rob icon Quick Update
Ok, here's a quick update before I get back to work. I've been really busy, and I've got a lot coming up this week, but after that I should be able to start putting content up here again on something that someone somewhere might call a regular basis. In the meantime, here are a couple recent things I've worked on. One is a building with a billboard done for a friend, and the other is a work-in-progress shot of something I'm texturing that I think my dad will get a kick out of.

Ah crap, I did it again. I was all like "Hay guys I'll post again in an hour" and then I didn't post for oh, about three weeks. The site isn't dead, I've just been busy. Again. At any rate, I can show you what I've done recently, if you're too lazy to check out the GDC website. We've been working on churning out game content, so last week it was all about textures, as you can see.

Additionally, I went to a fighting game tournament down in Virginia today with Ilija and his friend Casey, both of whom participated in the Guilty Gear tournament. I however, played in the Third Strike tourney. I did alright; I placed 7th out of about 20 people. I lost my first game, but then won the next four in the losers bracket before losing a match to an Ibuki player that went down to the wire. So I lost, but I did have a great time, and I got to meet some new people. Unfortunately, the experience has rekindled my love of fighting games. So I'll inevitably end up playing more of them in the next few weeks.

Anyways, I'll do my best to post here again this week. I do have something that I'm working on that'll look good up here.

Like every other post I'm bound to make, this one is late. I get caught up in other things, and I just forget to update this site sometimes. Anyways, it has occurred to me that I have yet to plug the Game Developer's Club formally, by linking to our website. We've been doing good work, and I'm really confident that we're going to have a polished demo done in time for URCAD in April. Anyways, I hate posting here without offering something substantial as an update, but It'll have to be that way for now. I'll update before the end of the week with some serious content, though.

Ok, this post is a bit overdue, but I've been busting my ass to get stuff done for the GDC all week. I just finished the texture that Kiran started for the Sentinel, and I think it turned out well. The lighting in the renders is a bit wonky, and there's no anti-aliasing, but otherwise, I think we're making some great progress. We should have this thing finished in no time.

Other than that, things have been going well. I'm taking it easy class-wise this semester after the murderous one I just finished (which by the way, I totally crushed... 3.68, bitches), and so far things have been going well. If I can just keep on top of all my side projects, it'll be a good semester. Anyways, enjoy the images.

Wow, a week in and I'm already getting lazy with the new site. I'll blame it on classes starting tomorrow. I've got a good class setup this semester, and between those and the art projects I've taken on (Sidekick, the GDC, and the Zeno paper), I should have my hands full. I kicked ass last semester, so I'm looking forward to a repeat.

On the topic of progress, if you hop on over to the GDC section of the site (located in Projects), you'll see that I've been busy working on things for the game. Most notable of these is the texture for the M24A3 "Jupiter" mech, a mobile heavy weapons platform. I'm very happy with how the texture came out, so give it a look-see.

Ok, it's been a long time in the making, but the new site is finally back up. Or at least, back up enough that I don't mind linking to it again or telling people about it. If you missed anything last time, it's all here again, although some things have moved around a bit, particularly between the Sketchbook and Projects sections.

But there are also some new things! In case you were wondering, they are:

New Titlebars - You may have already noticed that the title bar for the site has changed. Reload the page. Go on, I'll wait. Did it change? Pretty neat, huh? Greg and I put in multiple title bars to showcase different sections of the site. Each one links to the section it references. I'll be adding more later on.
UMBC GDC - I've added a section to Projects detailing my work with the UMBC Game Developer's Club to replace the work I did for the Dawn of War Necron mod. The new stuff is much better, and unlike the Necron Mod, the game we're producing will actually get finished.
Zeno - I'm currently working on a comic for URCAD that details a dialogue between myself and Zeno. You can currently find the prologue here, and I'll add more pages as I do them.
SAS All-Stars - The SAS All-Stars are the avatars that I'm currently producing for forum members. I like them a lot, so check them out.
Ultimate DC - Okay, so there's nothing in this section yet. But I've got plenty of material to upload so you can see some of the sketchwork from Jon and I trying to "fix" the DC Universe.

All said, I'm very happy with the new site. Greg did a bang-up job with it, and I hope to be much more active with updates in the future. So stay tuned!
